I must tell you that I've been in Ontario for over 9 years, and being from Newfoundland, fish is our thing. I have had fish and chips at other locations, but nobody has come close to this wonderful little place!!! Scrumptious, crunchy, delicious halibut!!! These fine people serve a huge plate full of two good-sized pieces of fish cooked to perfection and tons on hearty filling fries with an order of gravy which was a little too thick for my liking, but still tasted delicious. The young lady who served me was very friendly and polite and spoke very well. Overall, I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND this quaint little hideaway 100% They say first impressions are important, I agree.
Very satisfying! Prices and portions were reasonable. Fish & Chips was delicious! Fries were addictive and the lightly battered fish was to my liking. Even the onion rings weren’t overpowering and lightly battered. Would definitely record for people to visit and support the local business. Keep up the good work.
Nice fish and chips place, fish is nicely fried and flaky. If you're looking at the poutine, note that it is made with shredded cheese instead of curds. Scallops were good too. Service is friendly and welcoming and they accommodated our larger party with a quick phone call beforehand. There is some parking in the front of the building and more in the back lot.
Hailing from England Fish and Chips has been my comfort for a long time and I'll try any chippy establishment given the chance. What attracted me was how inviting the shop looks from outside which continued inside too. I took the plunge to try their special due to the price but came to see their regular menu was more than reasonably priced. My halibut and the portion of chips was rightfully excessive (thanks). The fish was delicious and I took pleasure in the light flaky batter covering. My platw was exploding with chips and they did not disappoint, a lovely balance of crisp and softness to the bite, I was savouring each mouthful. I opted for tea with my meal (Earl Grey) over a pop just because I wanted to be a rebel andI love my tea. I geniunely enjoyed the atmosphere and layout of the restaurant with light music playing througout. While it wasn't busy being I visited early before noon there were a good few customers and regulars popping in , I loved the decor of the store, placement for seating and to be clear because it matters the bathroom that was spotless like everywhere else. It's a well run establishment a step above a typical diner, the price are very reasonable and I'd visit again for lunch. A small group or family would surely enjoy a visit too. Stop by and pull up a seat.
Came with my family after being recommended this restaurant highly by our cottage neighbour. Worthy praise I must say. The Fish & Chips here are well-seasoned and fried to perfection . I liked that the batter they used was light and crisp and tasted like it was freshly made. Fries are addictive and could really taste the potato in them. Amazing food here, count me in to be a repeat customer in the future! Some notes on the dishes: - Clam chowder had lots of seafood in each spoonful, but a lil pricy imo for the size - Halibut texture is more firm while haddock is more flaky. Both are delicious choices and I enjoyed both - Fries are fantastic, much preferred this over the onion rings - The fish & chips are undoubtedly the best part of this restaurant, I would stick with those and skip the seafood platters next time
This was the best fish and chips we have ever had. The cod was crispy and flaky with no oily residue. The restaurant is small but cozy and quiet (not a sports bar). Staff is friendly and prices are reasonable. We highly recommend it.
