We booked Don PP based on many recommendation with a general consensus that if you want to eat like a local, come here. So we did We didn’t make a reservation but thankfully the owner was on hand and found a table. It was after all Mexicos last group game. The food was simply out of this world, packed with the flavours of Mexico. The owner came over and kindly explained his concept, using recipes handed down from his grandma. He explained how his food comes with mild spice levels and you have the options to add more heat, if you wish. Great idea. We highly recommend Don’s signature dish, Chamorro – Pork knuckle (slow cooked). If you are looking for authentic food owner owned/run with great hospitality, come to Don PP. Don’t forget to try his house margarita.

Excellent! We speak enough Spanish to get by and the waitress was super helpful with the menu/ordering. The food was fantastic. Clean. Decent parking either in the lot out front or the side.

We all enjoyed dinner at Don PP. We started with guacamole and salsa made tableside. There was a lot of freshly mashed guacamole and the salsa had a lot of flavor. I had chicken enchiladas with mole sauce for my entree. The sauce was really good. I love good mole, this had great depth of flavor. One friend had enchiladas verdes with chicken. They were also tasty. My other friend had the pozole soup, which he thoroughly enjoyed.

We went on a Friday night in May not too late. Great food at a good price ! Tacos were amazing and the sauce to add flavour was made in front of us and served fresh ! A really good spot for a chill, easy and quick dinner ! Highly recommend for a more laid back and away from the busy streets of Playa del Carmen !!

We had a fantastic meal at Dan PP in Playa del Carmen last night. The traditional, slow-cooked pork was incredible, paired beautifully with tasty pickled vegetables, a variety of spicy sauces, and fresh salsa. Served with both corn and flour tortillas, it was a true feast. The margaritas were refreshing, and the restaurant’s charming, family-friendly atmosphere made the experience even better. Highly recommended for anyone craving authentic Mexican flavors!
