I was lucky enough to be staying across the street from this place during a recent work trip to Vancouver area. Since I'm a fan of this type of food I was thrilled to find it within walking distance so I decided to give it a try it. It did not disappoint. I had an authentic experience in this cozy and colourful place. The owner is very knowledgeable, attentive and friendly. The food is very savoury and on the fiery side. It was a pleasant and satisfying experience
We absolutely love dining at Indian Wok. From the moment we walk in, the owner makes us feel genuinely welcomed — not just as customers, but as guests in her home. Her warmth, kindness, and personal attention create an atmosphere that’s rare to find. The food is consistently delicious, fresh, and full of authentic flavor, but what truly sets this place apart is the hospitality. You can feel the care in every detail — from how the dishes are prepared to how thoughtfully guests are treated. It’s more than just a restaurant to us — it feels like home. Highly recommended.
We ordered in for a house party . They do offer some off the menu items if you ask them . We got nom nom paneer which is not in the menu and it turned out really good . Our guests loved it
Owners are actually passionate about what they do. Great service. Lots of tasty vegetarian options. They customize for vegans, vegetarians and eggitarians, just request beforehand. Chili Paneer Dry is what I recommend the most. We also ordered hot and sour soup, it had some vegetables I don't see generally elsewhere, it felt like proper Chinese but with indian touch, or vice versa. It's reasonably well priced considering the quantity. They're introducing new item called Sweet Chilli potato fries with crushed peanuts, ask for it if you're going soon, it was really good. Highly recommended!
The thing I like about this place is consistency and warmth. The owners make you feel like you are invited to their home as guest. Small place, not a fine dining experience. But so far excellent Indo chinese in main land. Been there for many years and serving quality food. They offer discount on pickups. I alwats relish Chilli chicken, thin noodle manchurion and fried rice. My kids always go there for fortune cookies. Their quantity is quite large compared to others so order accordingly. I will highly recommend
We lived in Burnaby for a really long time and found this right before we moved to chilliwack - but I always come right back because I refuse to go anywhere else that’s Hakka / Indian-Chinese fusion. It feels like coming home to a loving family (owner is so sweet, feels like a mum welcoming you home) and the food is so good, I always come to drive by just to eat, waiting in Burnaby all day just until it opens. It tastes like a true fusion, and as someone who’s mixed with South Asian and Chinese culture, this really hits the spot! It may not hit the spot for some of the reviews (bland? Absolutely not, what?); but take it from me, it’s dang good Hakka food and I will be going so long as it’s open.
We drive from Chilliwack just to get this food! I’ve tried several Hakka/Indo-Chinese places but nowhere offers the same level of true cultural flavour, wok-hay(iykyk), and amazing service as Indian Wok. Thank you to the server and owner always giving the most amazing service to everyone! Coming from a Cantonese background and growing up eating canto food, I can immediately tell when a place truly offers that authentic style of cooking. Mixed in with Indian/Hakka flavours, and it is out of this world! 10000/10. Personal favourites are: - Mixed Pakora (love the coriander flavor from the chicken pieces) - Chilli Dumplings (the chilli sauce has amazing, strong flavor! Full of garlic and wok-hay) - Chilli Chicken (saucy version- I love the amount of sauce they give!) - Masala Fried Rice (fried rice, each grain infused with masala/curry flavor!) I would highly recommend to eat-in to get the full freshness and crispiness of the food. A plus is the amazing service and getting to see the passion the team has which reflects onto the customers coming in as well! Thank you for the amazing food and hope I can visit for many more years to come!
This review is coming from a family of picky eaters. We had dinner here last night and we were all extremely impressed with the food and service. Every dish was full of flavour and the portion size is generous, so definitely for sharing. We ordered beef, chicken, fish and prawns. All prepared to perfection. Finished off with fried banana and ice cream . The owners are incredibly nice and the service was beyond our expectations. Free parking in the back of the restaurant is a bonus. We are looking forward to our next meal at Indian Wok.
