Good Spanish food - in my opinion has better tapas than main dishes - great wines by the bottle, limited selection by glass -

A hidden gem in the heart of Condesa. La Taberna has the ambience of an old style yet family friendly restaurant, waiters do their best to make you feel welcome and well taken care of. Amazing and on time dishes supported by our great Eduardo and his crew make it a must to return soon. Bravo!
Great Taberna experience. Service was excellent, overall the food was good but the fish and salomillo were incredible. Their house red wine is good and priced well.
Wow! La taberna del chanclas was a highlight during our CDMX trip (which says a lot for a city with amazing food options). The service was top notch thanks to Ángel and the food was even better. They even gave us a free cocktail after the meal We will be back!!
Delicious! There are two of these restaurants in Mexico City. My son in law said the other one is always packed. This one was pretty empty only a couple of tables with customers. We walked right in!
One of the best prosciutto I've ever tasted. Great service, very knowledgeable staff.
The cocktails are exquisite. We walked in and sat at the small private bar with a beautiful ambiance and lovely Spanish guitar music. We were greeted by very friendly waiters and cocktail maker was top notch!
On the expensive side ( at least for Mexico City ), $100 USD for 2 with just one drink, the food was good bordering on great, I had a Rabo de Toro ( spanish beef stew ) and a friend a Milanesa , the amount and quality of the meat I got I think didn't reflect the price ( the Milanesa was of decent size though) the restaurant was empty and the waiters were not really attentive and just wanted to go home and chat amongst themselves, think it is mismanaged but if you are craving spanish food in a sit down semi formal environment and don't mind the price its not a bad option.
