This taqueria was recommended by the locals. My hubby scuba dives in Cozumel often but doesn’t explore many of the restaurants. I’m 1st generation Mexican American so I know my authentic Mexican food. These are the tacos you want. I haven’t tried their Gringa Pique but our local friends raved about the Alpastor Gringa Pique which is like a pizza. Anyhoo… not sure if I’ll try it bc I’m just hooked on their guac n tacos. We’ve been here about 10 days and already eaten here twice. I’m pretty sure we’ll be here a couple more times before we leave and this place will be one of our favs!!! Oh, and you can’t beat the price. Hubby and I each get 2 tacos and share a plate of guac n chips, we give a generous 20% tip and it’s still less than $20 USD, great place all around!!! Try it, you’ll be glad you did!!!

The best food I’ve had so far during my month in Mexico. Good and fast service, the waiter speaks good English, and the prices are very cheap.

What a great place to find thanks to the guys that delivered our rental car from Alamo. I asked them for a local place that wouldn't be full of tourists and they nailed it with this recommendation. The AirBnB host we rented from told us to go east of 30th to find the local places and that's where this place is located. They are on a bustling street and have an open-air layout. We grabbed a table close to the sidewalk so we could people watch. Simple establishment - about a half-dozen tables, open kitchen and friendly staff who speak enough English to make up for the holes in our Spanish. Tacos - they are a taquerria so I knew I was getting tacos. I ordered 3: chorizo, pollo and carnitas. We also started with some guacamole that was so amazing that we should have ordered more. The chorizo and the pollo arrived first. Chicken is chicken and my mistake was not ordering it con queso. Lesson learned. The chorizo was not as spicy as I was expecting but full of flavor. The carnitas had already won the day before I bit into my first chunk of pineapple. The pork was cut into small pieces and seasoned so perfectly that my mouth is watering just thinking about it. Definitely some of the best carnitas I've ever been served! I did snag a bite of kid 2's fajitas and they were also amazing. I really liked the notion of melting the cheese onto the meat and vegetables. Least favorite bite was the brain taquito. I just didn't care for the texture or the aftertaste. We were a party of 5 for dinner. All total, I dropped 500 pesos, including a tip because I hadn't yet figured out that part of being in Mexico yet. Doing the math and that turns out to be less than $30US for a dinner where four of us had 3 tacos each and the fifth had fajitas. If you want Mexican food like you get in the U.S. at the place in your local strip mall then this isn't the place for you. On the other hand, if you're looking for a place where the locals eat...

Absolutely delicious little taco joint — the fastest service I’ve ever seen (had my meal within minutes of ordering) & so cheap (30-45mxn per taco) — less than 10usd for 4 tacos & a drink

Pretty good and cheap tacos. They are tasty and the chili oil table condiment on the side is great to put onto your taco. Bit on the greasy side but worth checking out

We were recommended to this great little place by our cab driver on our first night in Cozumel. Eat with the locals and try the different flavours. We highly recommend the tacos pastor.

Accepts credit cards! Really efficient service, and mostly delicious food. Excellent prices. The best pastor on the island (comes with pineapple), really delicious horchata, and stellar charros frijoles. The one complaint would be that the suadero was very gristly. We're planning to try bistec instead next time. I will return and I would recommend.
