For our family and friends, Grand Prix weekend in Montreal simply would not be complete without dinner at The Keg Vieux-Port. We have been coming here every Formula 1 weekend since 1992, and after more than three decades, this restaurant continues to deliver the same outstanding experience that first made it a tradition for us. The atmosphere is warm, lively, and perfectly suited to the excitement of Grand Prix weekend, while still maintaining the classic elegance and consistency that The Keg is known for. Year after year, the food is exceptional — perfectly prepared steaks, great wine selection, and impeccable service that always makes us feel genuinely welcomed. A very special thank you goes to our incredible server, Felix, whose professionalism, attention to detail, and friendly personality consistently elevate our dining experience. Felix has an amazing ability to make every visit feel personal and memorable, even during one of the busiest weekends of the year. We would also like to recognize Manager Clare for her outstanding leadership and hospitality. It is clear that the high standards and welcoming atmosphere of this establishment start from the top. Clare always ensures that guests are treated exceptionally well, and her dedication is one of the reasons we continue returning year after year. After 30+ years of traditions and wonderful memories, The Keg Vieux-Port remains one of our absolute favorite dining destinations in Montreal. We are already looking forward to returning next Grand Prix weekend.

We tried a few dishes and everything was amazing. The New York Striploin was cooked perfectly — juicy, tender, and full of flavour. The New York Peppercorn was also delicious, especially with the creamy peppercorn sauce. Definitely one of my favourites! We had a bottle of La Petite Perrière Pinot Noir (2024) with our meal, and it paired beautifully with the steaks. For dessert, we had the Billy Miner Pie, and it was the perfect finish — mocha ice cream, chocolate crust, fudge, caramel, and almonds. So good! Overall, great food and great service. Highly recommend trying both New York steaks and ending with the Billy Miner Pie!

So here is my review about this place. 1- decoration 10/10 this is one of the nicest decoration I've seen from the keg. The style of the old port is very nice A lot of space. Nothing breaking down. 2- ambiance 10/10 there was a lot of people. You could speak correctly without shouting to each other. Great for birthday, dates or business meeting. 3- service 9/10 the service was good, but there was missing a little bit of creativity in the choices of mocktails or more variety. He didn't know completely his menu. 4- food 9/10 the food was good except for my potato that was a little bit cold. When it should have been hot? Ask for shrimp and scallops it was small for the price. (Look at pictures) 5- cleanest 9/10 the restaurants was clean. Our seat was also clean. However, the bathroom need a little bit more attention was no more paper towels for your hands. I do recommande this place.

I recently visited The Keg downtown with my family to celebrate our birthdays. This time, the experience was a bit more mixed than my last visit, but it still ended on a very positive note. I ordered the prime rib medium rare, but when it first came out, it was unfortunately well done. I usually do not like mentioning when something is wrong, especially to the waiter, but since it is not a cheap restaurant, I felt it was fair to say something. To their credit, the staff handled it very kindly and replaced it for me without any issue. After that, everything was great. The rest of the evening was really enjoyable, and the service improved the experience a lot. Since we were celebrating birthdays, they brought out two cakes, which was such a nice touch. And I have to say, the moka ice cream cake was absolutely incredible. Honestly, it was so good that I would go back just for that alone. I seriously need to find out where they get that cake from because I want a whole one for myself. Overall, while the meal did not start off perfectly, the staff made the effort to fix it, and that made a big difference. The birthday celebration ended up being a great one, and that cake was unforgettable.

Love this spot! They have a really good happy hour before 6pm, with a nice selection of cocktails and food. The bar section is really nice spot to sit as they have booths and feels very cozy. We came Friday night and were served by Greg who was super friendly and had some good suggestions. The wings were delicious. Will definitely be back soon.

I’ve been going to The Keg for so many years, and it has never disappointed me. I’ve always been loyal to their filet mignon, it’s been my go‑to order for as long as I can remember. This time, I decided to change things up, and I’m so glad I did.I started with the calamari, which was perfectly crisp, tender, and full of flavor. The Caesar salad was fresh and creamy with that classic Keg balance of garlic and crunch. I also had the Aperol spritz and Negroni, great drinks The real surprise was the prime rib. It was incredibly tender, beautifully cooked(medium well-done). The service was warm and attentive. The Keg continues to deliver a consistently great dining experience

Amazing food! the steaks were cooked to perfection. Our waitress Sydney was amazing, really sweet and attentive to my boyfriend’s nut allergy! Even the manager came out to assure us everything was going to be nut free, which is amazing service, we were very pleased! It was my boyfriend’s birthday and they also gave us complementary cake at the end which was delicious!
