Stopped for coffee but ended up buying a take out sandwich for lunch as well,seeing as they had a great selection. If the weather is fine sit outside as the view is great. Staff were friendly and doing their best to serve everyone quickly- it was busy!

Had lunch. Lobster roll and seafood chowder bowl. The flavours involved in the chowder cannot be explained by me. Absolutely amazing.
What a wonderful find th Clucking Hen was, perfectly situated on the coast with a great view. The tea and sandwiches were perfect, the tea nice and hot and plenty of filling in the sandwiches. The staff full of Caper bonhomie and humour making our party most welcome in their establishment. The porridge bread was wonderful light and delicate but had great mouth texture and taste. Visiting CB Island again in September and will definitely be calling in at the Clucking Hen.
Great place. Awesome food. Reasonable price. Visited 8:30am Sunday and within 15mints tables were occupied inside. Outside table still available
The Double D burger with their bacon jam was probably the best burger I've ever had! Fresh, juicy, hot, and a wonderful taste! We went back the next day for breakfast with was just as good. Very happy we decided to stop in for a bite. If we ever head back this way again we will definitely stop in!
Clucking Hen Café & Bakery is a gem along the Cabot Trail! The scenery alone — ocean views from the patio — makes it worth a stop, but the food really seals the deal. From mouthwatering lobster club sandwiches to freshly baked butter tarts and cookies, everything feels homemade and high quality. The staff are warm and attentive, making the atmosphere cozy & welcoming. A couple of things to know: it’s seasonal (open May through October), and popular items like bakery treats tend to sell out later in the day. But for breakfast, lunch, or just a sweet treat with a view, Clucking Hen delivers. Highly recommend!
So good we came back again the next day! The staff is very personable and attentive. We stopped by for lunch on the first day. The fries are perfect, and the chicken club is probably the best I’ve ever had. We came back the next day for breakfast and had eggs Benny. Delicious!! And their hashbrowns are just as good as their fries! They have lots of variety for take out options (which we didn’t have an opportunity to try), but I highly recommend stopping in for a meal. Absolutely delicious!
