⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ A Hidden Gem for Classic Cantonese Comfort Food! Double Double Chinese Restaurant is hands down my go-to spot for the best congee and traditional Cantonese comfort food in town. Their deep-fried dough sticks (油條) are unbeatable — always fresh, perfectly crispy on the outside, and light on the inside. The congee is second to none, served piping hot with a silky-smooth texture and a rich, fragrant rice aroma that warms both body and soul. The rice rolls (腸粉) are exceptionally well made — soft, smooth, and delicate, with just the right amount of bounce. They melt in your mouth and pair beautifully with the light soy sauce. Their soy-sauce-fried noodles (鼓油皇炒麵) are full of “wok hei” — that smoky, aromatic flavor from high-heat stir-frying — and the noodles are springy, never greasy, and perfectly cooked. The other stir-fried dishes are also flavorful, well-balanced, and delicious. What makes Double Double truly special is the staff. They are incredibly efficient and hardworking, and more importantly, they remember your face and treat you like a friend. One time, I complimented a staff member on her cute Hello Kitty face mask, and she immediately gave me one — a kind gesture, especially since it wasn’t available in Canada. Moments like that make me feel like I’m being welcomed home — with a table full of comforting, delicious food. Whether it’s breakfast, lunch, or a cozy meal on a rainy day, Double Double is the place to go. Highly recommended!

Very good Cantonese restaurant with several set menu options. Chose the lobster on chow mein, salted pork chops, beef with green beans and corn soup. All came out quickly, hot and tasty. Service is efficient. Atmosphere is your busy noisy Chinese restaurant. Nothing fancy but satisfying.

Had dinner with my family at Double Double Restaurant, and it truly felt like enjoying comforting home-style dishes. Every plate came out hot with real wok hei, which is something you don’t always find in Vancouver. We ordered several classic Cantonese dishes — curry beef brisket, soy sauce chicken, steamed fish with black beans, sautéed fish fillet with broccoli, and deep-fried fish skin. Everything was flavourful and well-prepared, especially the curry beef brisket which was tender and rich. This restaurant delivers exactly what you expect from a good family-style Cantonese eatery. Tasty dishes, generous portions, and very friendly vibes. Definitely a place we would return to.

Hongkong - Cantonese style food: was authentic. Both the sweet and salty chinese donuts were good. Beef noodles was a large portion. Congee was delicious, definitely one of the better places for congress I've had before. This restaurant is affordable. Not fancy, typical chinese restaurant with comfortable food. Place gets busy very often, I recommend going in smaller groups or during off peak hours. Parking can also be hard to find during lunch rushes. The amount of customers shows this is a good restaurant.

Love this place! Congee is amazing, also had fried wonton and those like rolls with shrimps. And for dessert their sweet donut. All so good. Will definitely come back

If you want some great eats then you have to find parking in this busy area to eat here. Great menu full of snacks and options for anytime eating. We had the deep fried ghost wrapped in a rice roll. Usually a dim sum item but instead, was a dinner snack for us. Also ordered a beef brisket and tendon over rice dish. Delicious! And lastly fried squid tentacles. Nice light batter. Great place for meetups and casual dining.
