Came here out of recommendation. The sashimi is fresh and good with thick cuts! Price is slightly pricey but it's definitely good stuff. Will come by again to try the other menus.

Amazinggggg. The sushi here is delicious. We had the freshest shrimp sushi and a platter of the most delicious sashimi. Really cute intimate spot. Great chef who made fantastic recommendations.
This was my first visit to Japango, a cozy Japanese sushi restaurant, and it left a great impression! My friend and I ordered the Sashimi Dinner Set (with rice and miso soup) and the Tempura Udon Set. The sashimi was a standout—featuring tuna, salmon, butterfish, black seabream, and BC albacore, it was incredibly fresh and beautifully presented. Each piece had a distinct, delicate flavor that made every bite memorable. My friend raved about the tempura, which was perfectly crispy and fresh, though the portion felt a bit small compared to the generous sashimi set. The restaurant is compact, with tightly packed seating, which can feel a bit cramped, but the warm atmosphere and attentive service made up for it. Overall, Japango is a gem for sushi lovers—highly recommend giving it a try!
Decent sushi. I’d like a more vinegared sushi rice, but fish quality was good enough. Karaage was juicy thigh meat but the breading wasn’t traditional karaage fare. Overall a good experience.
4/5. Japango has been a reliable sushi spot for me over the years. I recently sat down to eat there, and overall it was a great experience. The food is fresh, flavourful, and well-prepared. I’ve also ordered delivery from them a few times, and it’s usually quick and consistent. The chef at the counter is always friendly, and welcoming. Overall, it’s one of the better sushi spots downtown and a place I keep coming back to.
If you’re after an authentic Japanese dining experience in Downtown Toronto, this spot is a must-visit. Though it’s a cozy space, the decor and seating will instantly transport you to the heart of Tokyo. I tried the sashimi bento and absolutely loved it, fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. Plus, the service was warm and friendly.
