Rocky Mountain Ice House is another entry in the beer hall–burger joint scene, but this one’s a little different. Warm and inviting—if you can call it that. The space is very angular. Apparently, the owner is really into angles, and I can’t repeat that enough. The bar layout? Definitely unique. Not exactly conducive for the bartenders, and the angles don’t do much for the patrons either. But you know what? It doesn’t take away from the charm. The place has a kind of bizarre yet fun vibe. Eclectic is too simple a word. It was jammed last Friday, but tonight? Lots of seats available—even with the hockey game on- it is Monday. The service is solid. Professional. These are career people, and it shows. Burger was good. Not over-the-top great, but good. Wings? Just okay. I’ve been here before. Not saying I ain’t coming back, but I ain’t coming back in a hurry.
