I was the winner of the 2025 FOAP (Friends of Algonquin Park) draw and had the chance to visit The Mad Musher Restaurant — and it was an absolutely phenomenal experience. Steve, the owner, is truly amazing and goes above and beyond for his customers. You can tell he genuinely cares about everyone who walks through the door. The entire staff was just as incredible — friendly, welcoming, and attentive. If you’re looking for a great home-cooked meal, this is 100% the place to go. Everything we had was fresh, made to order, and tasted amazing. You definitely won’t be disappointed. The atmosphere is very warm and homey — something you just don’t get everywhere. It really made the whole experience even better. The desserts are a must-try! I highly recommend the chocolate lava cake, the butter tart and the Apple Melt — all of which were absolutely delicious and easily my favourites. It’s also very affordable and only about 20 minutes from Lake of Two Rivers Campground — and honestly, much better value than eating at the campground restaurant. It’s definitely worth the short drive. Thank you to Steve and all the staff for such a great experience, and thank you for being part of the FOAP prize pack. We truly appreciated everything and had an amazing time. We will definitely be back the next time we’re camping in the area!

My wife and I have enjoyed going here for over two decades every time we’re in Algonquin. While it’s always good we had to leave a review on tonight’s dinner. After sharing our usual large Greek salad we both had to try the pasta special - linguine noodle with sun-dried tomato, goat cheese and artichoke. Wow was it good! Hope this is on the menu again when we’re back in the fall. Great service as well. Thanks for your efforts that made it a nice end to a rather dreary rainy day.

A Hidden Gem The restaurant is a hidden gem that visitors to Algonquin Park should be made aware of. The place is very friendly, with lots of local artwork on the walls, including wildlife/landscape photos and paintings created by the owner. The menu had several vegetarian options. We tried two of their soups (loaded potato and roasted red pepper with gouda). Our group was very happy with the food, which was served very promptly. Some of us had the salmon dinner special (salmon with teriyaki sauce, potatoes au gratin and green beans), which was cooked perfectly. There were a large number of dessert offerings also - I'd recommend the chocolate lava cake.

My experience here was amazing, came only for food after spending 3 days in the Bush, and it hit the spot. The burger was excellent, well cooked and balanced, and I quite enjoyed the taters. But the true highlight of this restaurant was the staff. Particularly Sandy, she was extremely kind and went out of her way for me because she knew I was tired, extremely considerate and amazing. It really made my day. Furthermore, the other staff were also extremely welcoming to my family. I’d drop by this place anytime I’m visiting Algonquin, or driving the 60. It is truly a great place, and it’s a pleasure to say that it’s now my go to for after canoe camping meals!

We were visiting toen and stopped in here for a quick bite to eat! My partner ordered the Bison burger, and I had the black bean &sweet potato burger. They were both SUPER tastey and very filling, we couldn't even eat dinner after. And the pecan tart! Melts in your mouth. Our waitress "Christine" was great! Also, a message to Christine: The tea helped!!!
