About Banh Cuon Thang Long

Discover Banh Cuon Thang Long, a Vietnamese restaurant at 6757 Wilson Blvd #22, Falls Church, VA 22044, United States. Tucked inside Eden Center, this modest dining spot specializes in dishes that go beyond the pho and bánh mì commonly associated with Vietnamese restaurants in America. Its signature is bánh cuốn—delicate steamed rice-flour sheets served with savory fillings, pork sausage, herbs, fried shallots, and fish sauce. For diners seeking distinctive local dining experiences, Banh Cuon Thang Long in Falls Church offers a particularly focused introduction to traditional Vietnamese comfort food.

The dish to begin with is the Banh Cuon Thang Long Special. Soft, silky rice rolls filled with minced pork are paired with chả lụa, shrimp cake, bean sprouts, cilantro, and crisp fried onions. The contrast is what makes the plate memorable: tender rice sheets against crunchy garnishes, savory pork against fresh herbs, all brought together by seasoned fish sauce. A recent diner described the bánh cuốn as “soft, delicate rice rolls filled with savory ingredients,” while another longtime customer called the portion generous and satisfying.

Bánh Ướt Đặc Biệt is another strong choice, especially for anyone who wants more variety on one plate. This steamed rice-crepe platter combines plain rice sheets with sugarcane shrimp, barbecue pork, pork rolls, egg roll, shrimp cakes, and vegetables. The different proteins and textures make it ideal for sharing or for first-time visitors wanting to sample several flavors at once. Listed menu pricing has placed this platter around the mid-teens, while smaller appetizers such as crispy shrimp cakes and egg rolls remain comparatively inexpensive, keeping the restaurant approachable for a casual lunch.

For something warmer and more robust, Bun Bo Hue brings spicy beef-and-pork noodle soup into the mix. The broader menu also includes Vietnamese crab noodle soup, fermented seafood noodle soup, broken rice combinations, bánh xèo, and fried shrimp triangles, showing that Banh Cuon Thang Long has more range than its name initially suggests.

The dining room is compact and unpretentious, with the emphasis firmly on food rather than elaborate décor. Reviews describe it as warm, authentic, and reminiscent of a traditional neighborhood Vietnamese restaurant. Service is often noted as quick and attentive, although experiences with individual dishes vary; some diners have found certain plates milder or less consistent than expected. That mixed feedback is useful for visitors—the restaurant’s strongest reputation clearly remains tied to its steamed rice rolls.

Practical amenities include takeout, delivery, highchairs, and seating suitable for both small and larger groups, while reservations are not generally accepted. The restaurant can be contacted at +1 703-534-1746.

Among the best restaurants in Falls Church for specialized Vietnamese cooking, Banh Cuon Thang Long stands out by putting a traditional, texture-driven dish at the center of the experience. Visit for the signature bánh cuốn, add crispy shrimp cakes or a noodle soup, and enjoy an approachable taste of Vietnamese cuisine in the heart of Eden Center.

This Vietnamese restaurant lands in the average-to-good range overall. Service and atmosphere were both pretty average, nothing especially memorable. On the plus side, the coffee was very good and strong, which was a nice highlight. The appetizer spring rolls were really good, with a generous amount of meat filling, and the pho was solid as well — it had a slightly sweet flavor that was different in a good way. Overall, a decent spot with a few standout items.

We love the food here. This is our favorite place at Eden Center; we’ve been back three times. Especially good is the papaya salad and the mixed crepe platter (1A). Friendly service, too.

I came here specifically to try the bánh cuốn and was really impressed by how authentic and delicious it was. My husband ordered the cơm tấm đặc biệt, and I got to try a bit — the grilled pork was especially memorable. It was tender, perfectly grilled, and honestly more flavorful than what I’ve had at other places. The service was also excellent. A friendly gentleman — possibly the owner — was handling everything from taking orders and serving food to making drinks and checking out the bills. Despite being busy, he was quick and attentive. The restaurant is small and located inside a mall, so you have to walk in a bit to find it, but it’s definitely worth it. There’s a great variety of food on the menu, and everything is very reasonably priced.

I recently visited Banh Cuon Thang Long and honestly, it exceeded my expectations in the best way. From the moment I walked in, the atmosphere felt warm, authentic, and very much like a hidden gem tucked inside Eden Center. It’s not a flashy place but that’s part of the charm. You can tell right away that the focus is on the food and the experience. The bánh cuốn was the highlight soft, delicate rice rolls filled with savory ingredients and topped with fresh herbs, crispy elements, and perfectly seasoned fish sauce. Everything tasted incredibly fresh and balanced. The flavors were light but still satisfying, which is exactly what you want from authentic Vietnamese cuisine. What really made the experience stand out was the service. Phuoc was incredibly welcoming, attentive, and made sure we had everything we needed. It felt personal, not rushed, and you could tell he genuinely cared about making sure guests enjoyed their meal. The menu has a great variety, but you can’t go wrong with their signature dishes. It’s clear they focus on traditional preparation and fresh ingredients, which really comes through in every bite. Overall, if you’re looking for authentic Vietnamese food that feels homemade and full of flavor, this place is absolutely worth the visit. Between the food, the atmosphere, and the hospitality from Phuoc, he made my experience so much better. I’ll definitely be coming back.

Steamed rice rolls with pork loaf and the broken rice here are amazing! The meat is tender, flavorful, and absolutely delicious — but the best part is the fish sauce So tasty and well-balanced, it really makes the whole meal perfect

The food here is so delicious and authentic. I lived in Vietnam for ~18 months, and I haven't tasted many of the flavors I did at Bánh Cuốn Thăng Long in the nearly six years since I've been home. It was a lovely and nostalgic experience. I ordered mì quảng and bánh cuốn Thăng Long. I hadn't had either of these in the States before. Because my husband is less familiar with Vietnamese food and was a little hesitant about the things I wanted, we also ordered gỏi cuốn tôm thịt and bún thịt nướng chả giò for a little more familiarity, as he had already tried these in other restaurants. The bánh cuốn was made well and the nước chấm was delicious. I am somewhat hesitant about chả lụa, but this meat was flavorful and I enjoyed it. It also came with shrimp cakes, which was new to me. They were crispy, but not very flavorful. The gỏi cuốn was fresh and warm and came with warm peanut sauce. This was new to my husband, and he remarked that the textures and temperature were different from what he was used to, but for me it felt like I was right back on the streets of Saigon. The mì quảng was so fragrant and the pork inside was so flavorful. This was a dish I'd only had once or twice when I was in Vietnam, and it made me regret not having it more. It was SO good. The herbs and vegetables that came with it have names I never learned (besides like mint and cilantro), but they are so delicious and perfect. Would absolutely recommend this dish. I tried the chả giò in my husband's dish, and it was the first time I've had good Vietnamese fried spring rolls in the USA. I didn't taste any of the rest of his bún thịt nướng, but he enjoyed it, and it looked great. This was way too much food for two people, but I was just so excited to try everything. We ate as much as we could and left feeling very very full, but it was worth it. Note that the prices reflected in the most recent menus posted on Google are not accurate, as prices have increased from last year. We spent $70 after tax and tip (this being an abnormally large amount of food for two people, so it's understandable).

The food was surprisingly on the bland side, but overall a solid B. The place is a bit small and tables are limited. That being said, service was incredibly fast and they definitely want you in and out. Don’t plan on lingering there for long because they want your table for the next group. If you want to have long chats, go hang out at a boba shop instead. Luckily this place takes credit cards because there are some other restaurants at Eden Center that will only accept cash.
