Can’t believe Unionville has this great Italian restaurant, I can say this is the best Italian food I ate in Canada. The price is reasonable with good quality food. Highly recommend try their pasta, they use fresh pasta Pizza and calamari also about average. Server so nice and they explain the meal very detail.
Il Postino has such a beautiful patio, especially during the summer. The atmosphere is relaxing and makes it a great spot for lunch or dinner outdoors. The customer service was excellent—everyone was friendly, attentive, and welcoming throughout our visit. We ordered the Salsiccia Pizza, Rigatoni Vodka, and Tagliatelle Ragu. The food was good overall-just average…. it didn't completely wow me. That said, the patio and service really made the experience enjoyable. I'd definitely come back, especially to enjoy the patio again on a nice summer day.
Had a lovely meal at Il Postino, a longstanding staple to Main St Unionville for a reason. We had the rigatoni al vodka, papardelli funghi & chicken parm, all so good! The complementary bread was also very tasty - crisp outside, soft inside and drizzled generously with quality olive oil and salt. We sat inside on lower level and the lighting above us was flickering and it was a bit hot temperature-wise despite the upstairs level being cool with air conditioning. Minor fault in an otherwise lovely meal occasion. Would definitely recommend and would return. Fresh, tasty and good portion sizes.
We celebrated a family birthday at Il Postino and had an absolutely wonderful experience from start to finish. Making the reservation online was very easy and convenient, and their team replied to our email inquiry promptly and professionally, which made planning smooth and stress-free. We had an excellent dining experience, and the cozy private room arranged for us contributed greatly to the comfort and enjoyment of our celebration. The atmosphere was warm, intimate, and charming, perfect for a special occasion without feeling overly formal. The service was truly exceptional. The young lady (Melanie Sala) serving us tonight was the best of the best , warm, attentive, patient, and genuinely thoughtful. She offered great recommendations, checked in at the perfect moments, and made the entire experience feel personal and welcoming. We felt incredibly well taken care of throughout the evening. The food was beautifully presented and full of rich, authentic Italian flavours. The price was very reasonable for the quality and portion we received, truly great value for the dishes served. The chef did a bravo job, and it was clear that every plate was prepared with care, skill, and passion. Thank you to the Il Postino team for making our birthday celebration memorable and meaningful. We highly recommend this restaurant for anyone seeking delicious Italian cuisine, warm hospitality, and a wonderful overall experience.
A nice Italian restaurant in the heart of Unionville Main. The mushroom and truffle pizza was rich and earthy, the dough was thin and crispy. The calamari fried to perfection, and shrimp were perfectly cooked with a super addicting red sauce and bread to with it. For the mains we tried a few of their pastas and they were all good but no WOW factor. The rigatoni vodka was creamy with great depth. The orecchiette with sausage and rapini had a nice balance of flavours. The branzino was fresh and well cooked, the only standout was the rack of lamb (their special of the day) super tender and they nailed the cook times. Definitely a place worth trying!
Never have I ever had a more positive experience than I did last night at this beautiful restaurant. Myself, my two cousins and our spouses all got together for a long overdue dinner.The service was just unmatched. The atmosphere was fantastic. The specialty drinks that were on the menu for the night were phenomenal. The red wine we ordered with dinner was spectacular. The bread, the appetizers and then the meal were beyond delicious. Our entire table enjoyed dessert as well as after dinner lattes, cappuccinos and coffees as well. But really it was the feeling that we had while we were there. We were so incredibly well taken care of. It was the most enjoyable dining experience I’ve ever had in my life. I would highly recommend this beautiful restaurant in the picturesque area of Unionville to anyone! If I could give more than five stars I absolutely would!
Postino has a dim, cozy atmosphere, and even though I went during the day, you can tell it would feel really dark at night. It was surprisingly busy for a Tuesday, but the service didn’t slip, our waiter showed up quickly, was polite, and easy to deal with.For starters, the calamari and prosciutto burrata were amazing. The food came out in under 15 minutes, which was impressive considering how packed the place was.I ordered the chicken parmigiana, which I’d give a solid 7/10. My friend shared their steak with me, and that was closer to a 9/10, super tender and full of flavour. Overall, I’d rate the experience 4/5. The food wasn’t mind‑blowing, but it was definitely good, and the top-notch excellent pleasant speedy service plus fancy atmosphere made it a strong visit.
We came to Il Postino for Mother’s Day and had an amazing dinner! We shared the Salsicca pizza for an appetizer and loved the caramelized onions and the crust. We also ordered the Chicken Parmesan, Ragu, Rigatoni, and Orecchiette. Everything was perfect from the sauce to the al dente pasta! We would definitely come again and visit the cute town!
