We have a decent experience in Raku. The space is quite small but very crowded so I would recommend to come early so you don’t need to wait in line. The service and hygiene of the place was perfect. The staffs are really nice and frequently check on us. The food is good, a little salty for me, but I love the bowl and the visual appealing. The price is average high. The atmosphere is chill, calm and makes me feel like I’m eating in Japan.

Dashi is delicious, super flavourful. Udon has a nice chew. It is clearly evident which servers are more accustomed to Japanese serving style, so service loses some points there. While the ambience wasn't rushed it also didn't make one want to linger. A lot of guests use the accessibility door button which leads to alot of cold air rushing into the dining area.

Heard good things about them, so we went there for a late night dinner. We arrived around 830 and only had to wait 20 minutes to be seated. They'll text you. Has to be the best udon noodles in Toronto! The texture is the right balance of chew and firmness. Broth w as just right and plenty of beef in the gyunan! The chicken karaage was crunchy and definitely better with the soup than without. Gyoza was okay but needed some more salt and crunch I think. Shishito tempura was perfect! Service was excellent from the front desk to the server. I dropped my chopstick and less than a second after, someone already has a new one for me lol. Interior is cozy and minimalist. Very traditional feel.

Dinner at raku was great! Waiters were attentive and gave recommendations on the menu items and food came quickly! Portion sizes were quite large so come hungry! Food was flavourful and steaming hot!! Would highly recommend. Not a ton of seating but went at 5pm on a Tuesday with a party of 5 and had no wait time!

Raku is a beautiful and authentic feeling Udon shop. The mix of wood and bright colours while being very comfortable make it both aesthetically pleasing and relaxing to eat. The highlight (as expected of an udon shop) is the noodles. Just chewy enough and tasty everytime. A MASSIVE shoutout to apple juice as well as the Chicken Tatsu-Age and the spicy cucumber salad that are sides that can compete with any appetizer in the city. With its highlights though, the menu has some losers. A good Raku rule of thumb is the simpler udons that let the noodles shine with a simple brother are best (duck breast, tempura etc.). Food overall is a 3.6 :) The service is friendly but can sometimes feel a bit rushed considering it does get busy! Absolutely recommend a visit if you’re feeling udon.

Overall, a very good experience. The waiters were friendly, helpful, and attentive throughout our visit. The appetisers were excellent. We ordered three different ones and all of them were great. I highly recommend the agedashi tofu, it was especially delicious. The yuzu soda was also very refreshing and delicious, a perfect drink to pair with the food. The main dish was slightly disappointing for me. The udon noodles were a bit too chewy for my personal taste, although my partner really enjoyed them, so this may depend on individual preference. At the end of the meal, we were served frozen grapes, which was a very creative and refreshing touch. Overall, I would definitely come back to try another main dish.

So good! When I crave udon I always go to Raku! It’s chewy and handmade noodles are the best!!! I prefer a lot more than Marugame udon because the broth is much more cleaner and deeper I truly recommend this place! I ordered Nabeyaki and Gyutamadon but I prefer Katsudon because the beef was bit hard to chew on but other than that the service and the atmosphere was amazing! I had to wait around 10-15min

Good udon but it’s overpriced and not worth the 30 min wait. If you come with a party of 2 or more after 5:30pm you’ll probably have to wait 30-60min, and they don’t take reservations. They have space for 1 person parties though. Kani ankake udon 7/10: the crab was extremely salty, and I’ve had better udon for a fraction of the price. I wouldn’t wait here to eat, especially because it’s a very small space (no standing or sitting space to wait) and having to wait outside in the wintertime is especially painful I’d really appreciate if they started taking reservations, and I’d only eat here again if that was the case
