Got lucky with a short wait time! We arrived around noon, and the wait was only about 15–20 minutes, which was pretty fast since it wasn't too crowded yet. For food, we ordered the chef's special (most recommended) pork cutlet and the cheese katsu (which is just fried cheese, no pork meat). Let's start with the pork cutlet: it was absolutely delicious! The breading was the perfect thickness and fried to a beautiful crisp. The meat inside wasn't dry or overcooked at all—it was incredibly tender and juicy. Plus, the cabbage salad and soup are refillable, and the rice was cooked perfectly. As for the fried cheese, it tasted good at first but got a bit too heavy and greasy towards the end. We also added two giant fried prawns and an order of fried oysters. The prawns were huge and delicious, but the oysters were just average and didn't really wow us. On a bright note, the drinks were outstanding! Both the Jasmine Matcha and the Yuzu Lemon Tea were incredibly refreshing and highly recommended.

Was craving some traditional katsu set so came in for lunch. We don't have restaurants like this where I live so I had high expectations for this visit. The menu is simple, and that's all I needed. I got the tokujyo rosu katsu, which comes with rice, miso soup, and lettuce (your typical katsu teshoku set). You can refill those if you order a rice dish. It took a while for the katsu to come out, and I saw other tables waited quite some time too. But the food was worth the wait. The katsu was juicy and flavorful, even the fatty part, without the dreadful porky smell. The panko failed the dish, however. It didn't stay crunchy and turned soggy after a short amount of time. At CA$29 I expected better. The service was great. Staff was attentive and quick on their feet with every request. The interior is beautiful and airy. Would love to try the cheesy katsu or their curry next time!

Saku is a great spot for katsu, especially their pork katsu. They also have a unique option with their cheese katsu, which is worth trying. You can add sides like shrimp or even curry to dip on the side if you prefer that extra flavor. There’s unlimited cabbage salad, which is a nice touch—especially since the sesame dressing was one of my favorite parts of the meal. The restaurant itself is very aesthetic and well lit. Wait time wasn’t too long, and the service was great.

One of the best tonkatsu places we’ve tried. We ordered the Tokujyo Rosu Katsu and the Ebi Hotate Katsu! Everything the perfectly cooked. The panko breading was very crispy. The side dishes compliments everything very well! The miso soup, cabbage, and rice being refillable is a great feature too. It was pretty busy and we had to be on the waitlist. But they let us pre-order our meal to speed up the process!

I enjoy leaner cuts of meat and ordered the Hire katsu. The katsu was moist with a crispy batter. I finished my meal feeling pretty full and did not find the katsu greasy at any point. Service is friendly and prompt, with staff checking on us to see if we needed any refills. Would definitely want to come back again to try other items on the menu.

This place is always on my visit when I come to visit in Vancouver. Their pork cutlet is so wonderful and delicious. I enjoy the endless miso soup and their cabbage salad. The dressing for the salad is so tasty. The staff are always quick and efficient. I will definitely return upon my next Trip.

The pork cutlet was super crispy and the meat inside was really good. The seasoning was just right, so I didn’t even feel like I needed any sauce. The place was clean and comfortable, and the staff were really nice too. Overall I had a really good experience and would come back again.

We had a wonderful dining experience at this Japanese restaurant. The tonkatsu was absolutely delicious — perfectly crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. The cabbage was incredibly fresh and paired beautifully with the dish, and the soup was flavorful and comforting. Our waitress, Nami, was exceptionally attentive and thoughtful. She checked in on us regularly to make sure everything was perfect, which made us feel truly cared for. The service was genuinely warm and sincere. Overall, it was a fantastic experience, and we will definitely be coming back. Highly recommended!
