The place wasn't bustling about, I wondered why because the food was more than average. The crispiness of the fried cheese curts (double extra cheese poutine) was really quite the tasty treat. The portions were adequate, and I did not get to finish the entire bowl, but people I went with completed theirs. The service was very friendly. The men cooking for us was very patient and informative. I think this is a great stop for poutine lovers to try something smaller, but similar to La Banquise in Montréal.

BEST POUTINE IV EVER HAD! YOU HAVE TO BE CRAZY IF YOU HAVENT EATEN HERE! Poutine was 5 stars, the service was 5 stars and also just the atmosphere was 5 stars! Can i give 6 stars?? I live in michigan USA and im about to move here just for this poutine shop! Yummmm!!! Keep up the good work guys! I wish i could eat here every day youd have all my money!

Sooo goood!! So aware of the gf issue and so helpful with the menu. Great pricing, lovely staff. Will return!! Be aware that the Orleans location doesn't have the same gf protocol. Also, took a star off for atmosphere because it was chilly in there!!**noted the nice reply below - my gf restaurant app states some have had issue with being glutened at the other location which from the note, should have the same protocol. I can only vouch for Bank St!

If you want to have a true poutine experience in Ottawa, this is the place to visit. They offer several gravy options, including a vegetarian one, which I tried and really enjoyed. My boyfriend had the regular poutine as well. We also tried the fried dill pickles, it was absolutely fantastic. Tasty food, nice atmosphere, and good service.

The food was amazing, but the service was even better: I told them that it was the first time that my fam was having poutine, and they let us stayed for a bit longer. Also, when leaving, they said "Have a good night" in our language! (The guy at the counter took the time to look that up on Google) Just the best!

My first time trying poutine! I found this place due to the hype on Tiktok so we decided to give it a try during our trip. We got the smallest size and tried the Canadian and Hot honey. Everything was so flavorful and i thought the portion was quite big! I tried a multiple different poutines from my trip and nothing compared to this restaurant!!

The Great Canadian Poutinerie is an absolute gem! We drove 30 minutes just to give this spot a try, and it did not disappoint. The first thing you notice is the lighting—it creates such a cozy atmosphere that most restaurants seem to lack. To top it off, their music playlist was the cherry on top of some seriously good poutine . The menu has so many options to choose from, and the name definitely matches the quality of the food. A massive shoutout to Josh, whose service was amazing. He went above and beyond to make sure my child enjoyed his food, which really made the experience. This is definitely a new favorite spot! We only wish they had a location in Stittsville.

Amazing poutine. They respect and understand dietary restrictions. Their halal options are cooked separately, although you have to specify if you have any restrictions (halal, vegan, etc.) Portions are huge. The staff are super friendly and very helpful. I found my new go to spot in the city.
