We had an incredible group dining experience at Bhima’s Warung! There were 9 of us, and from the very beginning, the communication to organize the dinner was extremely responsive and easy. We opted for the Asian-style service (family-style dining), where the chefs curate a menu for your group and it did not disappoint! The 4-course meal ($89 per person) started with a delicious soup, followed by an amazing spread of shareable appetizers, then a variety of main dishes for the table, and finished with individually plated desserts. Every dish that came out had the table buzzing - all we heard were “ooohs” and “ahhhs”! The food was not only beautifully presented but absolutely delicious. We left completely stuffed (in the best way possible). One thing to note: Bhima’s is cash only, but they do offer the option to process credit card payments through their sister restaurant, Loloan Lobby Bar, which was helpful. And our leftovers were packaged in adorable little swans/ducks made out of aluminum foil! Highly recommend Bhima’s for group dinners or special occasions — it’s truly a memorable dining experience.

The fusion of the food was creative and interesting. The decor was warm and cozy., though the price was a bit high. They write their story on the menu and you can feel the sincerity of their cooking.

Had a wonderful Birthday celebration here with ice cold Goldie lager and wine pairings to perfectly accommodate the dishes; oysters, dumplings, mussels (incredibly tasty) and mains of risotto, lamb & rendang curry. Service was welcoming, unobtrusive and well timed. Unquestionably one of the best dining experiences we’ve had in ages! Huge thank you goes to Leanne, Sarah & Arya who took very good care of us. We will be back soon!

Bhima’s Warung is one of the most unique and flavourful dining experiences in Waterloo. The focus on Indonesian-inspired dishes really sets it apart from the typical restaurant options in the city, and the menu has a great mix of bold, aromatic flavours that you don’t find everywhere. The food is consistently well-prepared, with standout dishes that are rich, spicy, and full of depth. You can tell a lot of care goes into balancing traditional flavours with a more modern presentation. The portions are generous, and it’s the kind of place where sharing a few dishes makes the experience even better. The atmosphere is warm, lively, and a bit eclectic, which actually adds to the charm. It feels like a place designed for people who enjoy trying something different rather than just another standard dinner out. Service is friendly and attentive, and even when it’s busy, the staff keep things moving smoothly. It’s on the higher end for pricing, but the quality and uniqueness of the food make it worth it for a special night out or when you’re craving something different from the usual.

It’s a great hidden spot in the plaza. More on the expensive side but the food and atmosphere are worth it. The portions sizes were great, I ordered their delicious award winning pork ribs Moo Brickman Guay Toew and bird of paradise, the blue drink. This is definitely going to become one of our celebration dinner spots. Highly recommend trying it out.
